This specimen of anaphaloides was growing in a meadow near Populus tremuloides just South of Rampart Reservoir west of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Plant height was 25 cm, flower width 4 mm, inflorescence width 19 mm, inflorescence height 13 mm. Basal leaf length is 90 mm, width 17 mm. Stem leaf length is 54 mm, width 7 mm. Nearby flora include Galium boreale (Northern Bedstraw), Populus tremuloides, and Oxytropis splendens (Showy Locoweed). The locoweed is sparse in the Aspen meadow and seems to prefer the more open sunny meadows at Rampart Reservoir. Elevation is 9,100 feet.

Media means average. Alpine Pussytoes, Antennaria media, were observed in an alpine meadow near Weston Pass, Colorado. The hollow is on the east side of the ridge where snow melts late at11,900 Feet. Photos taken September 6, 2007. Plant height 32 mm., leaves are basal and stem, the basal in a rosette. Basal le lenght 7 mm, width 4 mm. Stem leaves are alternate, length 10 mm, width 3 mm. Flower heads are 3.5 mm wide and 3.5 mm long.

Parviflora means small flowered. The above were difficult to identify but seemed to fit parviflora better than other species. Growing as ground cover in a forest dominated by Pinus ponderosa in woodland park, colorado, 8,500 feet, July 3, 2007. Plant height is 77 mm, leaves basal and stem, basal length 16 mm, width 10 mm. Flower head width is 5 mm, length 12 mm. Stem leaves are alternate, lenghth 13 mm, width 2.5 mm. Prominent brownish red styles are present.

This specimen of Antennaria rosea was observed in a very sunny meadow on Pikes Peak, Colorado at 11,500 Feet. The meadow is very open and is located just north of the gravel pit near Glen Cove. Plant height is 15 cm. Leaves are basal and stem, stem length 13 mm, width 2.5 mm. Basal leaves are 15 mm long and 4 mm. wide. There are about 12 flower heads per inflorescence. Heads are 3 mm wide and 6 mm long. Other flora in the meadow include Cirsium Scopulorum (Alpine Thistle). This meadow is on the north slope of Pikes Peak and is shaded by cliffs to the South and West.

These pussytoes within 2 meters of the shore of summit lake at 10,400 feet near Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Plant height is 15 cm. Flower width 6 mm., leaves are basal and stem, stem alternate. The overall inflorescence is 15 mm. wide. Stem leaves are 22 mm long and 5 mm wide. Basal leaves are 22 mm long and 5 mm wide.
